I am still coming round so to speak, adjusting isn't easy especially with the cold weather. We have had sleet and arctic winds since our return. Apparently spring happened in the two weeks before we arrived and it is forcast cold for easter.
It feels really strange, our house feels small and cramped and it is hard to get going again. Michael is struggling more than me at the moment.
On the plus side the daffodils are out, buds are on the trees and the clocks have moved forward an hour so it will be lighter at night.I am still waking at 3am and for good at 5am when Michael makes us a cup of tea and a toasted teacake each.
Have decided am going to have a big clear out of clothes and stuff, I feel swamped by it all.
One thing stays the same, we have lovly tap water here and it makes the best cup of tea in the world, am also using my bottle in the fridge and drinking much more water now.
My hands are dry and like sandpaper and the skin on my face feels tight from the wind.
It took me two days to work through the post, there were mountains of it but am up to date with everything now.
We are seriously looking at going out for 6 months to stay, Nov to the end of April feels just about right. Michael is up for it and I am so I have to get my thinking cap on. S&S are happy with the idea, we can look after the house whilst they go out to work and there is a lot for pensioners to get involved with on Bribie so watch this space. Life there is not as fast or high tec, you can wear what you want, no one makes a fashion statement, it just feels a more steady way of life.
I would like to say a public thank you to S&S for looking after us and to F&MS for entertaining us and being there at the right time. It was a really good time for us all and you cannot beat memories like that.
Muneer is bringing my laptop back today so I hope to set up the google talk thingy, I may need you to talk me through it Fuad.
I am looking into the garden and there are two huge big fat wood pigeons trying to get a drink, they are as big as chickens and the sun is shining but it is still freezing cold. Makes a change from the parrots, herons and egrits that we are used to.
Life is cruel. I have never stopped since we got home, have done all the unpacking, etc, etc and have managed to lose the two pounds that I had put on. Michael who has literally sat on his backside feeling depressed and done nothing has lost six pounds, we have eaten exactly the same??
Have caught up with everyone except natasha, am saving an hour for her this afternoon as we have a lot to talk about.
Am off to tackle the washing, it looks like a good drying day.
One thing I have to say, Poms don't whinge but Aussies have 'A' levels in the art of it.
Have a good day.
