Spent Saturday with S&N in Bakewell, first time since last July. Weather sunny and warm. We didn't know it was the Bakewell Carnival, place very festive. Roads closed for one and a half hours for the parade. Floats, marching bands, village Queens and the highlight of the parade, 8 fit blokes dressed in full American Cheerleader outfits with blonde wigs, pom poms and a killer routine. They must have practised for months as they were spot on and they received the loudest cheer.
It is so heartwarming to know that some of the old customs carry on.
We had fish and chips, really good and a cup of tea/coffee later.
We were all tired but had enjoyed our day.
Had a quiet day Sunday, did some gardening, we went for a walk, did some washing, made Michael some mince pies and coconut tarts and then Michael watched a somewhat boring Wimbledon final.
We both had a Sunday afternoon nap, consequently I am not tired now.
Something weird has happened. I planted what I thought was Coriander and I have got what I think are tomatoes plants? I still have the seed packet and it says Coriander on it and I would not grow tomatoes from seed as I haven't got the room.
My neighbours over the back garden fence have cut the two DEAD trees down and got rid of all the ivy so there is much more light in our garden now.
We were supposed to get rain today but it hasn't arrived and it is forecast dry for the rest of the week?
I am in communication with Google as my blog will not let me upload pictures, it just says saved when I press the picture icon. We have been allowed to change to Gmail instead of Googlemail and I think they are having problems?
Not much else to report, all is reasonably well here at the moment, I hope?
Night all xxx

Glad you had a good weekend Mam. Bakewell is one of my favorite places as is their tart.
Did you buy a tart?
