Well I hope I am?
Have passed on most of the stuff concerning Paul to the solicitor. Have just got to sort out the house sale next week then it will go on the market at a much reduced rate and hopefully someone will snatch it up quickly. The surveyor who came for the will probate says it needs about 25 to 30 thousand pounds spending on it to bring it up to scratch.
Something has happened to my keyboard and it refuses to print my pound sign and the @ has moved to above the number 2 instead of being where it has always been. Has anyone got any advice or suggestions??
Have been awake since 4-30am so decided to come into the office and try to clear the backlog from my desk. Got fed up after a while so thought I would do my blog.
We had a really bad day on Wednesday weather wise. We had a months rain in about 4 hours and the Town Hall basement along with some roads, railway lines and houses were flooded again. June seems to have been a bad month for prolonged heavy rain for the past 3 years. It has been warm and sunny for the past few days so fingers crossed. My crops in pots are doing well and I now get fresh salad leaves from my cut and come again variety. The potatoes should be ready late June early July.
I have booked for Aus and got a good deal with Emirates. We fly from Birmingham on what is known as companion fares, you get them cheaper if two people travel together. We are in business class and can have a free chauffer driven car to take us to the airport and pick us up at both ends as part of the deal.Their luggage allowance has gone up to 40kgms per person so no worries there. We leave here on the 10th of Nov and return home on the 6th of April, 5 months in all and no English winter to suffer through? Michael is quietly excited. He got a taste for the sun whilst working in Turkey, it helped his arthritic joints to move easier. I think he suffers on the quiet from all his old football injuries but he never complains. We shall just chill out there and live rather than thinking we are on holiday and rush about trying to see everything.
Plus we have found out that the uk and Aus have a reciprical health arrangement so all hospital care is free and we pay a small amount towards doctors visits and prescriptions etc.
So I have about four and a half months to plan everything, more for what I am leaving at this end, organising the house etc. If Pauls house sells we may have new neighbours when we return.
Not much else to say on the Aus front except Michael asked if Sandra could find him a cleaning job whilst he is there as he is becoming so skilled and efficient at cleaning our house now it would be a pity to lose the skills?????? His words not mine.
There is a family party on July 18th for Cherie, she is 40yrs old, at Shiregreen working mens club where they filmed some of the scenes for 'The Full Monty'.
Muneer and Pauline celebrate their Silver Wedding on July 14th, 25yrs, I can't believe how old you are all getting.Everyone else is ok I think.
Can't wait for Sheilas chickens to hatch, hope there aren't too many cockerels amongst them?
Am off back to bed for a couple of hours. The sun is up for another good day. It feels really strange when it is still light at ten thirty at night and light at 4am.
Good Morning all.

It's of no assistance but Andrew always blames the computer fairy when strange things happen through no fault of the operator, crocodile mick was observed throwing a tantrum when the sound would'nt work on theirs (it sounded like norman colliers act) so throwing your arms up in the air and swearing profusely worked for him, his wife repaired the connection,we were able to observe this on the skype webcam and very entertaining it was too.The house next door sounds like a good project for "Supernorm" Graham
Absolutely not and don't tell him.
You have changed the keyboard settings to American style. Most Macs have the @ key above the number two. Unfortunately I have no idea how to change it back!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Cherie's do too.
WHOOOPS!! Graham
Gina is correct. It sounds like you have done something to change the keyboard to American. But just like Gina, I have no idea what you did or how to undo it. Try Googling it.
