It is Sunday afternoon and the sun is out. The day started with mist, drizzle and a grey sky, despite that it is warm and slightly humid.Am out on the deck with a nice cold drink and a gentle breeze.
Had Paul been here he would have called around for a chat and a drink. He gave me 3 tiny orchid bulbs a couple of weeks before he died and against all odds and neglect they have all taken and the first shoots are through. Life moves on regardless?
Have seen L&R, there was a slight panic as his hay fever was bad and he had become very asthmatic. He has now taken advice and got some treatment from the chemist and is feeling much better. There is always a high grass pollen count around Wimbledon fortnight especially if it doesn't rain so he needs to be prepared next year.
Long conversation with Natasha who is in the throes of moving into a new flat with Chris, no more student digs?
Her friend and flatmate of 3 years has just flown out to New Zealand to take up a 3 month skiing instructors course. They hope to meet up when N&C go to Aus in Sept.N has had her first yoga class last Monday and was still aching on Friday. have encouraged her to keep it up and I think she will? well I hope so.
Long conversation yesterday with S&S who will be in Toowoomba for 4 days with the Chelsea coaches. The camps have been very succesful and she had nothing but praise for the coaches who have conducted themselves impeccably. It is their seminar next weekend and they have a good set of coaches attending. They are having unseasonal torrential rain and his Saturday matches keep getting cancelled due to waterlogged pitches. It is only 4mths to go before we leave for the sunshine state.
Long anxious conversations with S&G re the birth of the chickens, lovely to see the pics of them. Give them a month and they will be strapping hens. Enjoy the balls of fluff while you can.
Glad to see that MS had a good time in Oneil and Sturgess SD. Michael and my self had breakfast there, it is a lovely little town and the place where once a year thousands of Harley Davison biking fans gather for a 3 day meet.
Am now doing 3 yoga classes a week and feel really well. Add on all the other day to day stuff and I have little spare time.Got our tax returns done, am always glad when they are off my back. It shouldn't be too bad next year now that Michael has finished his coaching? I hope.
Had a two hour one to one workshop at the Apple store on the iphone, I can only remember about 2 things from it but I plod on and persevere. Fuad helps me out when I get stuck, it is an amazing gadget. I really need to devote a bit more time and attention to it. I shall probably just get the gist of it when they will say it is obsolete and bring something completely new out.
Spoke to Andrew, Ginas boyfriend about Apple computers, he swears by them and wouldn't have anything else. He says they are more logical in their application and a joy to use. Am pondering?
Have made a lovely lamb curry for our lunch and feel full despite cutting our portion sizes really down.
Am off to do a bit of weeding and tying stuff up in the back garden, most of my veg has done well except the tomatoes, not sure why.
Afternoon all.
Sonia
