Picked S&S up at 8-30am, they looked well after such a long flight. Sandra said she had slept for 5 hours on the last part of the journey so she was chipper. It was a typical November day, dull, misty with a drizzle that wets you through. Sameer said he had forgotten how dark and dull England can be after the perpetual sunshine he lives in.
Dropped them off at home, met up with Liam, Roxanne was at work. Had a cup of tea and a Blue riband provided by Liam and a chat then left for home.S&S told Liam that they were here on an 'all inclusive holiday', there was much ribaldry and laughs following that statement I can tell you.
Did a session at the gym in the afternoon, called at M&Ps, they were off to look for an outfit for Muneers works xmas'do' in York next week.
Took some bits and pieces to S&Ss and stayed for a take away curry which was magnificent. Roxanne had come in from work so the girls sat around the kitchen table and tucked in. Liam had called at the gym so we didn't order for him, he arrived early just as we were tucking in so Roxanne shared hers. Then M&P turned up with mince pies and xmas cake from M&S so we had dessert.
The boys watched football in the front room and we talked fashion, hair and loads of other stuff, etc, etc in the kitchen. We left around 10pm as people had work the following day and Sandra needed to sleep as she was saying things like 'Tor and Dotley' for Dore and Totley.
Michael couldn't be there as he was renewing his Emergency Aid certificate for football coaching. He isn't allowed to coach with out it and it lasts for three years. It will probably be the last one he does?
Fell asleep pretty quickly but was wide awake at 3am, the election was on my mind. We watched as the numbers rolled up to give Obama a winning ticket and watched Mcains losing speech and Obamas winning one, it was exciting stuff. He is a braver man than I Gunga Din to take on such a task and I think it can only get better what ever he does.It will be a change for a start to have white folks waiting on a black family in the White House?
Consequently I am shattered this morning as I still wake up at the usual time. It is still dull and misty with a slight drizzle, so much of the same. Muneer and Sameer are playing golf this morning, Sandra is recovering and I think Natasha and Chris are coming over from York this evening. They have to go back tomorrow for work and Uni stuff. We shall probably crawl around all day doing very little but that is the beauty of retirement, you fit the day around you and not the other way round.
Oh I rang Mary Sue at 4am our time, she was watching the drama unfold on TV with the knitting group down at the lakes, then rang Fuad who had just gone to bed to share this momentous occasion with them.
That is all for now folks, Michael is still asleep so I will make a cup of tea and try to get going.
Good Morning All.

I must say it is very generous of Liam to offer the all inclusive,it seems like a merry old start to the poms visit, this is the way it should be,who would want to be excluded from "family affairs" no one in their right mind. That blue riband can't be one of the ravenscroft batch ,surely?
Methinks a lot of deep south barmpots in pointy hats will be a little upset this morning, must seem like halloween all over again to them.Sadly many idols have feet of clay, and I fear Fuad may be correct in his forecast, but hope he is'nt. G'Day Graham
It seems like you get well fed at S&S's.
Sonia, it was wonderful to get a phone call from you, especially since I was sitting amongst a group of McCainers. They couldn't believe that you were interested enough to be awake in the middle of the night. I wonder how many Americans would stay awake to watch a presidential election in another country.
