Coming Round?

Had the best sleep last night.Todays weather was lovely, 17deg and was sunny it was a good spring day. I rejoined the health club and did 20 lengths in the pool, I know about it tonight though, feel a bit tired.
It is nine years since my mum died today. I visited her grave and put some flowers on. It was nice and tidy and there were lots of flowers on.I think about her a lot as I get older and often quote her, it keeps her close in a funny sort of way.
Michael has fettled the front room and kitchen today whilst I was out doing errands and swimming. He did a really good job, we have a lot of work outdoors to cover the next day or two as the weather is supposed to be nice so the upstairs will have to wait until a cold or rainy day.
I am going to sort the back garden out and make it less hard work so will do what I did in the front and put down a thick mulch so that it is low maintenance. I only have the energy now to look after the house, take care of all the organisational stuff, go to the gym and keep up with everyone. Plus we want to go out walking a bit and away for the day occasionally so the garden is at the bottom of the list now.
Michael is watching the England match, I think Crouch has just scored.

Had my hair cut, it looks good, it is aa bit shorter than last time but it will last longer.
Thought i would make a chocolate cake as I had the oven on cooking chicken. Started beating the butter and sugar then realised I didn't have any cocoa, so Michael volunteered to fetch some from the shop as he fancied some cake. He got back from the shop and I realised I didn't have any eggs so off he went again.
A lovely cake came out of the oven but I somehow dropped the top on the side and had to fit it together like a jigsaw. Put some icing on top and it was ready to eat. We had a reasonable piece each after our meal and i retired to the living room whilst Michael watched football in the kitchen. I needed a drink of water and saw that Michael had done a 'Fuad', half the cake was gone. He said he had just had another piece, something like a third I would say. He got a minor bollocking????
We were brave last night and went to bed with out the bottles, will probably do the same tonight.
Am watching the Apprentice, it is the second week and I haven't really got to grips with the contestants yet.
On that note will retire for the night. Have had our cocoa, but no bottles.
Night all.

I have very fond memories of Florrie.
I wonder what she'd say about Fuad and Michael eating up the desert. Sonia, running out of things in the kitchen while trying to bake is so frustrating. I've been there. I'm getting so forgetful at 54, what the heck will it be like when I'm 74?????

I remember when I made Florrie her 80th birthday cake. I made a petal shaped fruit cake, covered it in marzipan and icing, then decorated it with flowers. We took the cake to the social club where Florrie had lunch once a week. She loved introducing me to everyone and showing the cake off. When it was time to eat the cake Florrie declined and said she did not eat fruit cake. I did not know, but she did not care, she just loved it that I had made her the cake, bless her.

COOKED A CHICKEN!!!how awful,I think this hogging of cakes is a result of too much salad and stuff of that ilk,it leaves you hungry.

I too thought about Momma yesterday. I was also thinking about my Grandma and Grandpa (my dad always used to try and get me to call him that!). They were all three very special people and I am glad to have had the chance to know each of them.
