another football and rain filled sunday.

A break through in the ankle saga? decided last night that I would have a go at walking round the small lump, about half an hour with my trainers on. This will be the first time I have walked with them on since April.
We set off rather slowly and gingerly on my part, not too bad, then the heavens opened but we soldiered on, made it around without pain but now have a good sized blister on each heel????????? the skin on my heels must be so tender from not wearing shoes. I was soaked down to my bra but it isn't cold so was ok with that.
Am thrilled that my ankle held, have a calf massage tomorrow so will tell her not to go near my tendon. Fingers crossed that it is on the mend. Like Sheila I was getting cabin fever, it has felt weird not walking.
Took a cheque to Jeans for her 60th birthday yesterday from the sisters, spent a couple of hours with them looking at the work they have done in the house and garden. and what is left to do then went to Ponsfords to look at carpet for the stairs. Even if I don't buy from them it is worth a visit just for the advice they give and the fact that you can look without being pressurised to buy.
Sandra rang me yesterday from Aus, she was doing her last minute packing, they fly today and land in Kansas about 11pm. it is weird as they gain time flying that way around. They leave Brisbane at 12noon on Sunday and land in Kansas at 11pm Sunday night but in real terms will have been travelling for about 24 hours.
Natasha and her friend Sam are having a good time in Aus and are staying behind to go to Sydney and Whale watching up near the Whitsunday Islands, I think they arrive in Kansas on the 12th of Sept for a week following 3 days in LA and then 3 days in New York arriving home on the 22nd of Sept.
Did a couple of stints in the allotment this week, have taken the last of the peas they are lovely raw in a green salad. Michael has started to dig the potato plot over there are still lots in, we are going to store them in a large paper sack. There are some onions left, some garlic and some mangy caulis. Collected 24 hard backed snails and 4 slugs the size of mice. Cremated them on the bonfire I had started, hope it interupts their breeding programme?
Am typing this to the background commentry of the Man UTD and Man City game, Michael is watching it in the kitchen, not sure why he isn't watching it on the big screen in the living room?
It sounds exciting, Casper Shmicheil is one good looking boy, yes I know I have spelt his name wrong;Well what a turn up, City have won.
On that note will go and get our desert ready, rhubarb crumble and custard. We have had a green salad with grilled red pepper and shaved parmisan cheese oh and raw peas with roasted red sweet potato and 2 lamb chops each.
The rain has stopped but the skies look full of it.
Will have an afternoon nap before the next match.
Harrogate won 1-0.
