Summer is back

A glorious day yesterday, spent it quietly for the most reading in the garden. Drove to meadowhall to pick S&N up from their London trip. The coach was delayed caused by torrential rain in London. Strolled around the mall, it was dead, a lot of the ground floor is still closed due to flood damage. The girls appeared to have enjoyed their trip but looked exhausted. The coach cost them £4-50 each return and on the downward journey was half an hour early, the train takes about the same time and the cheapest fare is about £27.

Had a long chat with Gina re her friends health problem, I think she should be ok but it will probably mean medication for life.

We are back to the dishwasher problem which turns out not to be the dishwasher at all but some blockage under the sink which was sending water back into the dishwasher. Anyway we couldn't unscrew the pipes so called Muneer out, with the assistance of two plumbers mates, I was first mate according to the main man and it appears to be sorted.

The house next door to us has had a sold sign put up today so we will soon be having new neighbours, a family with two kids, aged 8 and 10.

Have just rung Sheila, am going down tomorrow to spend the weekend with them, well into Monday as it is bank holiday and Michael is with Harrogate, all day Saturday and Monday. She assures me the weather is good with lots of sunshine.

Michael has just gone to visit his friend who is seriously ill in hospital following surgery for bowel cancer.

I am sat out in the garden reading. and typing this in bits, I come in when it gets too hot.

A man is supposed to be coming tonight to give me a quote for my kitchen floor?

We will probably go up to Josephs allotment when Michael gets back for a couple of hours, a good time to have a bonfire, I am chief fire officer up there?

Have got enough miles with United to fly business class to Kansas, the difficult bit is getting a seat. I will have to have a case packed and be ready to fly at very short notice as they only let the seats up when it is near to take off and they cannot sell them.
Bad news, the dishwasher is filling up again, not a lot but enough to let us know we havent cured the problem. Muneer is going to contact a fireman who does plumbing to have a look at it.
The tiler has been and will send me a quote.
Am off to pack for my weekend away..
Word is that the cooling towers by the motorway at Tinsley are coming down next month, watch this space. Goodnight all.
