A fun filled week here at 'Chez Hennigan'. Naomi came to stay as she was taking her driving test on the Tuesday and needed to get some sleep, the dogs over the fence are barking all night again and she ends up sleeping on the sofa in the living room. Samia has a noise meter in her bedroom this week supplied by enviromental health and other people have complained about the noise so hope something gets done this time.
Back to Naomi, only her mum and myself knew the date of her test as she didn't want to feel any pressure. She couldn't eat and was a nervous wreck. I had been letting her drive me everywhere I needed to go and then giving her practice at reversing and other techniques she had to master. She has her own little car, no power steering, Samia bought it whilst I was in Australia and didn't know to ask about these things. She is a good workmanlike driver and I felt safe with her.
It had swallowed a lot of my time over the past month so my fingers were crossed on the day. Anyway she passed and did well, you are allowed 15minus points for minor faults and she only got 6, to say she was over the moon is an understatement. It will change their lives, she can now take her mum to the supermarket and on little errands. The next thing she has to do is to learn routes and which lane to be in etc, so my job is still not over.
She will do the pass plus which is 6 lessons covering motorway driving, towncentres, driving in the dark and on country lanes, this reduces your insurance costs as well.
On the home front, we have had a beautiful week of sunshine warm days and no humidity. Have spent most of it outside, Michael has given the drive two coats of a clear sealer, oiled and sealed the deck and other bits of woodwork and I have done the garden and helped out at the allotment. We are having to catch up with what we should have done whilst we were in Australia, the usual spring maintenance. It is hard to go away for months at a time and maintain a house and garden and fit in all the other stuff with family and friends.
On the ankle front there are changes. I got up one morning last week and thought I can walk without hobbling, mornings were always the most stiff and painful times with it. Well it is certainly on the mend. Went for a calf massage on Fuads advice, Jesus,Mary and Joseph, had to talk non stop or I would have screamed, my calfs felt better but she was too vigorous around my ankle and my tendon hurt again. However I am walking much better with it now and have another massage booked in.
Natasha has arrived safely in Toowoomba, will probably speak to her this morning. Sameer has got a full time job in Football, based in Brisbane, don't know much about it as I haven't spoke to him and Sandra just gave me the bare bits.
Jean my sister has retired, she is 60 on the 20th August, not sure if she is having a party. She is kept busy with her grandkids.
Josephs work is back to full production after the floods, one month to the day.
Muneers ankle is slowly on the mend, he doesn't run as much these days, he plays golf every week and cycles to break up his training routine.
Michael has heard from Robin Russell re more work in Turkey so we are waiting for that to come through.
I have to sort out a flight to Kansas for Oct, Michael says I need to go there for a rest from him and my life here???
We had a little rain during the night and thundery showers are forcast for today, the garden certainly needs it, it is still warm though.
Well must sign off am doing our bacon and egg Sunday breakfast, Michael has gone out to fetch the papers, will have a leisurely day today.

I told you the massage would help. If it hurts when she is doing it, then that shows your muscles are knotted up. It took me a few massages and then all of a sudden my ankle felt tons better. I think it just tightens the tendon when the muscles are knotted.
