We had summer this weekend, hot, sunny and not too humid. Had sisters lunch at Jeans, it was good to see everyone and jeans new house, i was the only one not to have seen it.
Naomi drove me her mum and Michael there, she did really well as I was a good drive away in an area where she hadn't been and where we were depending on directions from Jean. she did a perfect reverse into their drive to the applause of all.
We left about 3-30 as Michael and myself were out in the evening to a wedding reception. Enjoyed that, it was in a nice hotel, lovely grounds and they had a bar-b-q instead of the usual buffet.
Michael finished off sealing and oiling the garden furniture on Sunday so we are all neat and tidy outside. he watched the Charity Shield and i did a load of washing and weeded the garden. have planted some fast growing rocket in between the flowers and it is growing fast.
Had some bad news, a friend who I was quite close to at work lost her husband to liver cancer, 58yrs old and a smashing bloke, then a man who Michael had known since he was a 16yr old footballer rang to tell Michael he was rushed into hospital with a suspected appendicitis and was scanned and found to be full of cancer, a really sad conversation which Michael handled really well. The moral is enjoy your life to the full whilst you can?
Natasha leaves today for her round the world trip, she has 5 days in Hong Kong before flying on to meet up with Sandra and Sameer in Brisbane on the 10th, she is so looking forward to seeing them.
This week have driving practice with Naomi, dental appointment and a physio appointment. Have to take some sample tiles back, chase up the electrician, start mine and Michaels tax returns and tidy up other bits and pieces.
Rain is forcast later today and it is cooler. have been up since 4-30am so have done a fair bit of work downstairs. am going back to bed for a couple of hours to see if I can get a bit more sleep?
Michael is off to Josephs allotment later today, he tries to get 6 hours a week in, he enjoys the workout and it really does make a difference. he isn't any good at weeding as he cannot tell the difference and we have lost a few plants as a consequence?
It is Muneers birthday tomorrow and was Sheilas yesterday. Jean is 60 on the 20th of August.
Am off to bed, the sky is a heavy grey with bits of blue peeking through. Hope the rain holds off.
a bit different to kansas, I would melt in that heat.

Looks like you are keeping yourself busy. Try and talk Michael into coming. We really want him to come.
Tell Michael there is no such thing as a weed, only a plant growing where you dont want it to.
Hope Muneer likes his card!!!
I'm sorry I missed the last sisters, would have been nice to see everyone. I'll have to get over to Sheffield soon.
Hope all is well,
Gina
