Achilles, to be or not to be?

Had a good day out with my friend Kathy in Leeds on Wed, it was cold but nice and sunny. We had lunch at the Pizza Express and she showed me pictures of her husband who received the OBE from the Queen last Oct for services to education. he has been a headteacher at a C of E comp for the last 20 years and his deputy recommended him.
He is a quiet unassuming man from a poor working class background who just knows how to teach. His school has an orchestra, a choir and a choral choir and the kids do well there.
There were pictures of him receiving his medal and one of him shaking her hand. Bless him everyone else was in tie and tails and he had on a lounge suit and his old comfy shoes with the toes turned up.
He was then awarded the teacher of the year award from his peers. He knew he had won the northen leg and had to go to London for the final, he won it 3 days after his OBE presentation, which was a shock. There was a programme on TV and a full page spread in the Guardian on him. I was so pleased for them both, it is so right when good things happen to good people isn't it?
Today saw the specialist re my ankle. he said it wasn't my tendon but a 'something Bursa' which was inflamed. He is refering me to his NHS clinic as he didn't want me to pay for an ultrasound, if his diagnosis is right he said I would need injections to reduce the inflamation. If it is my tendon I wouldn't. He said that an ultra sound was better tham an MRI as you could move it around and get a better picture.
He didn't think my complaint was degenerative so we shall see. He told me to wear a gel heel thing to cushion my heel and to wear what ever I was comfy in.
We stopped off at Lilys for a sandwich and then drove to R/ham for Michaels physio appointment. All was well until she was doing the ultrasound treatment on his ankle and she hit a sore spot so he came out limping worse then what he did when he went in?
Finished the day off with a visit from Naomi who came to see us before we left for Portugal. She looked really well, she had something to eat, we watched a TV programme and she did some notes for her homework. Sh was really proud as she had just got her first paycheck as a supervisor and deservedly so.I could do with some of her hard work and diligence.
Michael has just watched the England game and limped off to bed, he has put the bottles in so I had better follow him. A big day tomorrow, I have to put the stuff in the suitcases which is no mean feat let me tell you.
Weather in portugal looks good for the next week, sunny and in the 60s, I can live with that for a couple of weeks.
When we come back we will have to get stuck into the allotment at Josephs, there is early stuff we can plant and am sure some early weeds are up and running.
Thats all for now folks.
Night all

Sonia, we just heard in the news that United Airlines is charging $25 for a 2nd piece of check-in luggage and $125 for 3 pieces. They expect other airlines to follow suit. It's suppose to offset high fuel charges but I think it's a scam by husbands to get us to pack less! I wonder if Sam the pom had any part in it? Have a great time in Portugal.

Poor Michael. Sounds good news about your ankle though.
