Got up and did some ironing. Did an aqua class, really good, there is a difference in the instructors, this one is the best.
Picked Susan up and we visited our aunt in hospital. She is my mothers youngest sister and is only 10yrs older than me. She is recovering well but there is a strange phenomena. She had a right sided stroke caused by a bleed in the brain which was caused by high blood pressure, she is right handed and it is partially paralysed on that side. Part of rehab is some craft work and my aunt who has never painted before in her life has painted 2 pictures with her left hand. She didn't copy the pictures and one is a boat on a lake with the reflection of it in the water, surrounded by hills etc. Everything is in context and it looks like grown up painting. I could never do anything like it in a million years.her daughter was there and it was a good visit, we shall go again now she is on the mend.
Came home and finished tidying up the back garden. I have one bed to sort out, there are still salad leaves and rocket from last year and I am loathe to dig them up but will have to as some are going to seed.
Spoke to Sheila who is now the proud owner of six hens, hope to follow their progress by blog.Apparently Graham has made a hut to be proud of and they are considering names for it, ie Chuckingham palace??
I imagine there will be much baking and egg recipes to follow.
Watched 2 episodes of Coro, then the finale of Dancing with the Stars, quality dancing at the end.
Am watching Jonathon Ross and he has 7 of the Osmonds on as guests.
Sameer rang and left a message, wanting to know if I was doing my Percy Thrower impersonation??? Oh! for those who remember him the gardener Monty Don has had a stroke at 52 yrs old, grew his own organic food etc and a fine figure of a man.
It is a big holiday weekend, but a lot of people are staying at home. The exchange rate for the Euro is poor, petrol is so expensive people aren't using their cars for pleasure anymore and many holiday companies have added more on after people have paid because of air fuel charges.
An economist on the radio was saying the cause of the oil problem is , little or no new investment in the business, both getting the stuff out of the ground and refining it, profligate use of oil/petrol by america and the gulf states, the emergance of China and Indias middle classes and their demand for petrol and I cannot remember the last one. In Saudi petrol is 7p a gallon here at the moment I can get it for £1.12 a litre of which 58p is tax.
Am off to bed, am planning to clean the house tomorrow and do the rest of the ironing, we shall see what I achieve?
Mary Sue am still managing to wear my Mephistos without my heel giving way.
On the weather front as it is a bank holiday we are expecting rain on Sun and Mon. Our thoughts should go out to Gina and Andrew slummimg it in a tent for the sake of musical delight?????? hope they took their wellies and brollies?
Night all.

Oil is going up because of supply and demand. China and India are using lots more now than they did 5-10 years ago. I think China used to use less than 2% of the world's oil. Now they use around 20% or something like that. Opec has no incentive to increase production. Why should they? The price will go down and they will run out of it quicker. Even if they did, there are not enough refineries in the world to make it into petrol quick enough. It's a mess.
