The day started off promising? It was freezing with a strong hoar frost but sunny and still. Muneer came early as he was golfing for the day with Sameer. Sameer arrived about 9-15 with a rich Aussie lady who has moved to England to give her 15year old a chance to make it in football. She wants someone to mentor him and wanted to fly Sameer back to England for 3 weeks to get him up to scratch?
Sameer said he couldn't do it but said he knew a man who could, namely Michael, we are meeting the boy Friday morning as they fly back to Aus on Monday for xmas.
Pete the DIY fireman was here fixing the plinth to the kitchen units, he shouted me into the kitchen and there he was having cut and mangled the top of 2 fingers of his right hand with the circular saw he was using, blood every where and what a mess his hand was. We did not panic Mr Mannering, I padded and tightly bandaged it under his instructions, he was white with shock, not sure what I was like. We said a quick goodbye to the Aussie lady, I decided I would take Pete to the NGH A&E as there would be better doctors there than to Rotherham A&E which would be nearer to where he lived and I knew it would be a long wait.
Michael had a full 7 hour stint at college so he was out of the equation.
Pete was xrayed, it had cut into the bone on one finger and vitually took his nail off. He was seen by plastics who took pictures of his hand and he has to go back Thurs am with nothing to eat so they can repair it whilst he is knocked out. We were there for 4 hours but he was seen by the best.
Whilst this was happening Michael got in his car to go to college and his battery was flat. There was no one around on the street to jump start him, Pauline had took Muneers car and was shopping with no mobile phone, Joseph was uncontactable and Naomi was at school. He forgot he is in the RAC and could have rung them and I was too stressed to remember. I brought Pete home and we used his jump leads to start Michael up and get him on his way. We will buy a new battery today, it is the original one in the car from when it was bought in 1998.
Pete insisted on driving himself home, so we packed his car up for him and waved him off, these firefighters are made of strong stuff. He is due to fly to Spain on Sunday for a weeks holiday?
By the time everyone had been and gone and done it was 5-30pm and I was knackered mentally and physically. I didn't realise how shook up I was and had a good session of palpitations when I finally sat down. I felt guilty and responsible that it had happened at our house, yes I know I shouldn't?
I rang Muneer when I first got to the hospital and he picked his golf ball up and walked to the next tee, he said it turned his stomach over. Whilst on the subject of golf Fuad Michael had said no cheating as they left our house and Sameer said there was no chance of that as you weren't playing???? what could he mean?
Went to bed couldn't face the cocoa, have been awake since 2-30am, it is now 6-30am. Thought if I wrote it down I may be able to sleep for a couple of hours.
Sheila and Graham are staying tomorrow night as I am having a sisters do on Saturday, have missed seeing her.
Rang Tony my granite man and he has got me a nice kitchen fitter called John to finish the job for me, oh we also have a leak under the kitchen sink. Will be so glad when it is all finished.
Mary Sue have started to collect Emma Bridgewaters Black Toast and Marmalade range. They have a factory outlet so got my first dinner plates and 3 mugs from there . Dean is buying me the sugar basin and Naomi is buying me a mug for xmas. I have had the Portmerrion stuff for nearly 20 years so am ready for a change. Will get some more pieces in the sales as there are 4 places in Sheffield that stock the range.
Will post this as Michael has left for Welsh Wales with the lovely Marv so he can have his knee washed out, it's a long story?????????????
Gooday all.

Wow Sonia...what a day indeed. Hope Pete is able heal to normal. Well, I'm glad S&G will be there for a visit. Enjoy the day! I like your new dishes. Tell all Hi. Mary Sue
I hope Pete is okay. That sounds pretty rough.
I wonder who won at golf. As Muneer about Sameer saying he didn't lose his ball then we found it about 5 holes later on the way back.
Been there with the mangled fingers when I was a 16 year old miner at Treeton Colliery, just thought, it could be a bugger when the US immigration try to take my fingerprints,
