Michaels 65th Birthday.

An auspicious day for the Hennigan household, Michaels 65th. The weather was grey damp and cold with a hint of freezing cold fog.
I made him his favourite breakfast, organic egg and bacon on a lilys breadcake. We then drove to Mexborough to visit a classy shoe shop with good cafe upstairs owned by someone Michael knew from his old days in local football, we hadn't been there since the late 80s. Well the shop had trebled in size and still sold classy footwear and clothes the latter being more for the younger man. Michael bought himself a really good pair of shoes and me some very good carpet slippers. We had a light lunch, very nice it was too.
We bought 2 Christmas wreathes and put one on each of our mothers graves and said a few words to them, returned some paint to B&Q and then headed for home.
Had a nice meal of smoked salmon and brown bread and butter, christmas cake and cheese then we settled down to watch some TV, Michael watched football and I knitted and half watched stuff. A good day was had by all. He had the usual pressies of wine and chocolate which he is slowly working his way through.
Spoke to Sheila this morning, she is made up with a bad viral infection and they travel to Ginas tomorrow, not sure if Graham is a couple of days behind her on the viral front. It is awful being ill at christmas.
Samia saw the doctor who told her she had suffered a bad reaction to the flu jab, she has to have a blood test tomorrow at the hospital.
Joseph who is on holiday called in to work and they have closed his machine down so no more papermaking for him. They have all the back up services in, like people to help with CVs, pensions, further training and job finding etc. Joseph says he feels really sad, after 27 yrs it is not just the loss of a job but a lifestyle and comeraderie. I do hope he finds another job here and doesn't end up in the middle east on his own.
Havent put any Christmas decorations up as they are in he loft and the entrance has just been painted and the trap door is stuck, so I just have my cards and 2 pointsetta plants that Paul my neighbour bought me to brighten the place up.
We are going to Muneers for Christmas day lunch then S&S and family are coming for tea. samia and naomi are going to Dean and Laurens and karon and Joseph are going to Karons sister. Karon and Samia are both working on the morning shift finishing at 3pm.
Mary Sue I think the mirror in the space where the pine unit was is a brilliant idea, Michael isn't happy with it as he says he will be constantly catching sight of himself ????????
Have finished the cushion I started when I was with you and have started one of those pidge scarfs, will let you know how it goes. Am enjoying the novelty of not having the kitchen to worry about, I just want to spend some time with Michael before he is off again. He flys out on the same day as S&S from Manchester.
Well thats all for now, my cocoa has arrived.
Have my fingers crossed that the laying of hands etc works, are you having positive thoughts about you achilles tendon when she does it Fuad, it will only work if you do?
Night all

Yes Mam, I am having positive thoughts about the treatment. I am open minded about it.

You seem to be eating a lot of salmon which is good but you have to be careful about the mercury levels.

It seems like a lot of people are sick.
