Easter Snow

Since arriving here we have had every sort of weather. We arrived Friday lunchtime, it was freezing with gale force winds. Had little sleep Friday night, from the hail, rain and winds battering our bedroom window.
Saturday braved the elements and visited the local trout farm, which is in a river that runs fast. The trout are just netted off in a part of it so they are in running water all the time. One man who was there and lives in the village smokes the trout at his house and he supplies Claridges Hotel in London and the Inn on the Park on Park Lane London. We had it for dinner and it was lovely. We also collected some eggs from a house where they have free range chickens. The eggs are outside the front door and you just take what you want and put your money in a tin. They are a £1 a dozen. In the supermarket you pay on avg about £1.50 for half a dozen organic eggs.We then took a trip to Louth which was very busy but it hasn't changed much since we had the bungalow down here in the 70s. The famous chip shop is still there.
Had a leisurely Sat evening in reading the papers and watching some TV. I was still tired from the night before so had had a sleep around tea time then went to bed and slept all night.
Woke up at 6am to a winter wonderland. It was snowing heavily and there was already about 4ins on the ground. It was very still with no wind. Got up about 8am and it was still snowing, it was so heavy it looked like a fog and was 6ins deep by then.
Looking on the bright side we knew it wouldn't last as sun was forcast for 11am so had a leisurely breakfast and ohd and ahd at it.
It is now 10.20 and most of it has gone as the sun is out. Have seen the big barn owl flying up and down, it is beautiful.
We have had a good rest and eaten really well. We are gearing up for Sunday lunch at the moment, then the big match Man U v Liverpool.
We have to go home today as Michael is coaching tomorrow at 10am.
It has been a nice break it was a pity about the weather though as it has been too bad to go to the seafront, maybe next time?
Bye for now.

Graham put the snow pictures on his blog. Pretty impressive for March. I kept looking to see if Graham was logged on his computer so we could web cam but didn't see him all weekend.

We thought of renaming Sonia," Rip Van Sonia" for some unknown reason.
