Saturday did bits and pieces at home then over to Josephs to do some serious weeding on the allotment. Karon had done the salad bed and I did the onion bed which is about 14ftx7ft. It was hard work trying not to step on the onions whilst digging the weeds out but it looks wonderful now. It took me over 2 hours and boy did I ache afterwards, it was twice as gruelling as the yoga class.
Watched the final of has BGT and what a farce, out of ten acts four of which were good the public voted for a 14year old break dancer. Bless him he was good but not that good.
Slept well and was at the health club before 9am today. Thought a swim might ease my aching joints, it did to a point.
Made a Sunday lunch for Muneer, Pauline,Rachael and her boyfriend Dave. The food was good and a good time was had by all. Was going to take some pictures but forgot.Made a rhubarb crumble with rhubarb from the allotment, it was gorgeous.
Had a quiet evening which was livened up by a phone call from Michael and pictures of Fuad and Graham in their cycling gear. There was some discrepancy in what was seen as appropriate gear to wear. Helmets are a must I think. I once went to a lecture given by a neurological surgeon who said most of the head injuries he operated on were caused by motorcyclists and cyclists who did not wear helmets.
Weather today was rain and grey skies. Tomorrow is supposed to be good then back to heavy rain on Tuesday so hopefully I can get the grass cut.
It has been very quiet on the antipodean front for the past week hope all is well?
Night all

So Racheal has a new boyfriend? Rhubarb crumble sounds great except I remember reading somewhere that rhubarb is bad for you and you shouldn't eat it. I can't remember what it was but Google it and see.
Sonia, when you work in the garden, do you bend over? I saw that it's good to sit on a bucket while working in the garden. Here's a link to show how to weed a garden without back pain.

Do you have a jacuzzi at your health club you can sit in?
I find myself worrying I'll get a phone call from someone who has ran over Mike. Driver's are mad crazy here sometimes. I won't go on the roads like he does...I'm happy with sidewalks, bike paths and side streets.
Though well meant the advice re helmets is not applicable in my case, previous incidents where my cranium took knocks prove that I have an inbuilt helmet, weeding should be done with a hoe(not jerry springer type) this saves bending, and should take place every couple of days.
The chinese intronuced rhubarb to europe,in order to wreak revenge for the opium war,it is supposed to be good for the blood, but is an excellent laxative. Graham
